Google maps has captured a great snapshot of the community garden. The design was inspired both by Thomas Jefferson, and by a telescope lens designed by a 19th century French astronomer, Augustin-Jean Fresnel. This lens is now being used by astronomers to help detect nearby earth-like planets. We’ve established this garden in an effort to educate and inform residents about the benefits of growing, sharing and eating organic produce, as well as provide an environment that fosters community, creativity and self-reliance.
